Freckle faced five year old found unharmed

His mother was ecstatic to have five-year old Isaak Glenn back in her arms.
2 – Rebecca “Oh my God! My arms have ached and ached, so I’m not going to let him go.”

That’s Rebecca Glenn the mother of the freckle faced, red-headed boy that went missing just after five pm Wednesday as the family he was camping with were setting up camp at Washburne State Park 14 miles north of Florence. He was found just after one pm Thursday by a Cottage Grove man and his 14-year old son who, when they found out a child was missing on the coast, cancelled their plans for the day and rushed to volunteer for the search. Pete Burrell (buh-RELL) and his son Mason were assigned a search quadrant just north of the park along Big Creek. Burrell said they were on foot calling out.
2 – Pete 1 “Down to the creek, downstream, first went downstream a little bit, but then we were hiking upstream just calling his name. Heard him and had to make our way up a very steep old growth sort of hillside to where he was. We shouted to him to just stay put.”

Burrell, the Community Services Director for the City of Cottage Grove, was less surprised about the amount of ground that young Isaak covered as he was about the type of terrain.
2 – Pete 2 “As the crow flies I guess it’s about a kilometer, half mile or so. It’s thick terrain between here and where he was, so, certainly.”

He said the boy told them he was playing with his friends when he decided to go for a walk and when he realized he was lost, just sat down and waited for help. After spending the night in the damp, chilly coastal air, help finally arrived.
